Colonial BancGroup - the Montgomery, AL, bank holding company with 323 Colonial Bank offices in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Nevada and Texas - last month restructured management of its operations in South Florida with appointment of a president and chief executive officer for each of two key activities - commercial banking and retail banking. Both are women.
Chosen to head the retail banking operations was a 25-year veteran of the financial-services industry with a track record of taking banks in this area to new levels of service and financial success. She is Eris Sandler, who previously held senior positions at Barnett Bank, BankAtlantic, SouthTrust Bank and, most recently, Regions Bank in Miami-Dade.
She was interviewed by Miami Today international editor Michael Hayes.
