APOCALYPSE VISIONS
   The University of Miami's Lowe Art Museum presents an exhibition of photography by Edward Weston. Apocalypse Then: Images of Destruction, Prophecy and Judgment from D¸rer to the Twentieth Century looks at the ways in which artists over the past five centuries have depicted the end of time. CONVERSATIONS ON SOCIETY
   ArtCenter/South Florida presents a mixed-media work and installation exhibition on social intercourse. MORE THAN WORDS

PABLO CANO MARIONETTES
   Artist Pablo Cano explores man's journey through the ages in the production "The Beginning." Cano's cast of 100 marionettes includes Adam and Eve, planets, dinosaurs, the menagerie of Noah's Ark, robots and dancing telephones and televisions crafted from found objects like cracker tins, wash tubs and suitcases. 2 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 18 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 770 NE 125th St., North Miami. $10 members, $15 non-members, $2 children. EARTH BODY
   The exhibit Earth Body Sculpture and Performance displays the career of Ana Mendieta and her work influenced by Caribbean and North American cultures.    HISTORICAL HOTELS

The Wolfsonian-Florida International University celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exhibition offering an exploration of American hotels in the early 20th century. The exhibit will focus on the Schultze & Weaver hotels and explore the changing patterns of design and use of urban hotels' guestrooms. Presentation drawings and architectural plans will comprise the core show, which will be followed by furniture, tableware, photographs and printed ephemera displays. THE JOY OF TOLERANCE

ART EXHIBIT
   Painter Ria Falkner hosts a reception for the open exhibition of her work inspired by the powers hidden in the bamboo tree. Ms. Falkner also is a professional jazz vocalist, composer and recording artist. She will perform at the exhibition with guitarist Peter MacDonald. 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Gilded Hand, 165 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables.
