Incubator ArtCenter/South Florida found its new leader already in the fold in museum veteran Jeremy Chestler

In 1984, a small group of artists saw the potential for a cultural renaissance in Miami and decided to create a facility on blighted Lincoln Road in South Beach. ArtCenter/South Florida since has emerged as an innovative arts incubator, a non-profit organization promoting development of visual arts and artists and engaging the community.
Heading the center as executive director since last month is Jeremy Chestler, 36, who was managing director from October 2004. He previously worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami and the Wolfsonian-Florida International University.
Mr. Chestler was interviewed by Miami Today international editor Michael Hayes shortly after his promotion.
