Aina Juliol, pgigroup work with developers, architects in designing more environmentally sound buildings

The cost of constructing buildings and operating them for developers, owners and tenants are what seem to be in an ever-rising spiral. Added to that is a widening concern to preserve our natural energy and water resources for future generations. Enter a new kind of engineer who is seeing green.
Among companies providing engineering-design services such as more efficient air-conditioning, use of solar energy and water-saving plumbing for the architects and developers of real estate in South Florida is one run by Aina Juliol, an enterprising woman from Spain's Catalonia region who has been in the business since she was in her teens and has now set up operations here.
She is working here at a time when the local construction boom may have dipped somewhat but projects continue to come out of the ground and when there is a burgeoning interest among local government officials and residents alike in energy conservation locally as well as nationally and internationally.
Ms. Juliol was interviewed about her company and her vision by Miami Today international editor Michael Hayes.
