A fascination with building and creating led Sherri Gutierrez from Lincoln Logs to heading Arquitectonica's Miami office

After 11 years with design powerhouse Arquitectonica, 35-year-old Sherri Gutierrez has stepped up to direct the internationally known firm's Miami headquarters — the first woman to head an office in the company's 30-year
   history.
She balances both management responsibilities and a design load, overseeing 135 local employees as they navigate the recent residential real estate slump.    She was interviewed in her Brickell Avenue office by Miami Today staff writer Risa Polansky.
