Noelia E. Moreno taking over leadership of Latin Builders with goal of helping to create opportunities amid downturn

There's no doubt the slump in the economy has presented challenges, Noelia Moreno says. But it's also created what she sees as a golden opportunity: the chance to reinvent and venture in new directions. She plans to apply this philosophy in both her business — Moralmar Kitchen Cabinets — and in the Latin Builders Association, where she was just named the organization's first female president.
Ms. Moreno hopes to lead the builders' organization into the next generation, emphasizing use of technology for networking. At Moralmar, she and her family are preparing to launch MKC Solutions, a new Web-based division that will allow any customer to order a large shipment of cabinets for factory-direct prices. Now, nearly all business is done directly with developers and general contractors.
Ms. Moreno, also a licensed attorney, says she's looking forward to new challenges and opportunities. "I'm taking this time to reinvent my company with MKC Solutions, and I feel very excited to be part of the LBA reinventing itself," she says.
She was interviewed in Moralmar's Hialeah plant by Miami Today staff writer Risa Polansky.
