DOWNTOWN JAZZ
   "Oriente" performs in the first installation of the "Downtown Jazz" series. Formed in 1993 by Cuban-born guitarist Egidio Balzola, the Afro-Cuban jazz band mixes Afro-Cuban music with Brazilian- and New-Orleans jazz with other sounds. 7-10 p.m. Bank of America tower, 100 SE 2nd Ave., Sky Lobby, Miami. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
   The National Philharmonic of Russia comes to Miami to perform works by Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and other notable Russian composers. The orchestra, which is said to be composed of Russia's "instrumental elite," will be led by conductor Vladimir Spivakov and will feature award-winning violinist Mayuko Kamio. 8 p.m. Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami.
