| ART Thursday 9/10 A CUBAN MASTERMiami Dade College's Art Gallery System hosts an exhibition featuring some of the work of famed Cuban artist Cundo Bermúdez. He was born in Havana in 1914 led the tide of modern Cuban art in the 1940s and 1950s inspired by the people, landscape, music and political climate around him. Ends Nov. 7. RELIGIOUS IDENTITY The Jewish Museum of Florida hosts Judy Chicago's exhibit "Jewish Identity." AFRICAN INFLUENCE "Black Crossroads: The African Diaspora in Miami" explores the impact of African-Americans, Africans, black Caribs and black Hispanics on Miami through historic photographs, oral histories, memorabilia, film and artifacts related to black pioneers, families, laborers, communities and organizations spanning the 100-year history of black migration to Miami. THE LENS OF THE LOWE The Lowe Museum of Art presents "Through the Lens," featuring 100 photos from the museum's collection of more than 1,000. FROM THE PAST The Bass Museum of Art shows an exhibit of Renaissance and Baroque artwork from its permanent collection. BEACHIN" The Wolfsonian-Florida International University offers "Beauty on the Beach: A Centennial Celebration of Swimwear." The collection of swimsuits, bathing caps, accessories, illustrations and promotional materials explores the role fashion and design played in shaping conceptions of glamour and health through an examination of innovations in swimwear design.
