   The Dorsch Gallery presents talk "Post-Identity Garden of Failure," with artists Mette Tommerup and Alpesh Kantilal Patel. Mette Tommerup's new series of paintings is influenced by traditional still life as much as images found on the Internet and depicts objects paradoxically as sexually and racially charged subjects. 2 p.m. Dorsch Gallery, 151 NW 24th St., Miami. FRENCH SYMPOSIUM
   The Frost Art Museum's exhibit "Tour de France/Florida: Contemporary Artists from France in Florida's Private Collections" is shown alongside a symposium with the France Florida Foundation for the arts. The symposium includes two live performances by French artists: Joël Hubaut, mixed media artist, musician and poet, and Jacques Halbert, of the Eat Art Movement, with a special edible performance dinner. 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, 11200 SW Eighth St., Tamiami. $5 for students. $50 others.
