KITE-MAKING
   Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens' education staff member Laura Tellez teaches a family kite-making class "Go Fly a Kite: It's a Family Affair." Recycled materials are repurposed to decorate beautiful kites, followed by a story time to learn how plants and animals use the wind to travel to different places. At the end of the class, the kites take flight, weather permitting. Limited seating. 10 a.m.-noon. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables. $30 for members and $40 for others per parent/grandparent and two children. Registration required.
