CITY CHRONICLES
The Miami Art Museum hosts a film screening of "Lagos/Koolhaas," a documentary exploring the city of Lagos through the observations of architect and urban theorist Rem Koolhaas and its residents. The documentary's location coincides with one of the filming locations of current museum exhibit "A Needle Woman." The film screens three times to different audio. 1-2 p.m. commentary by Rem Koolhaas. 2-3 p.m. commentaries by residents of Lagos. 3-4 p.m. sounds of the city. MARILYN TRIBUTE
Galleria Ca'd'Oro presents "Marilyn Monroe: Tribute to a Female Icon," a group exhibition of 21 artists celebrating the life of the screen goddess on the date marking the 50-year anniversary since her death. The exhibition showcases a life-size sculpture of the actress wearing the iconic white dress by Seward Johnson; a naked version immersed in color by Pablo Echaurren; a pop interpretation by Ludmilla Radchenko alongside the series produced by Andy Warhol; and a live performance by Erika Calesini and more. 7-10 p.m. opening reception.
