Vast Brickell plan adds department store

By Meisha Perrin
Miami's City Commission last week unanimously approved a slight name change and an almost 1-acre extension of Swire Properties' Brickell CityCentre, while hailing the firm's officials for picking Miami for their $1.05 billion mixed-use project.
If the extension is approved on a second reading, it will add about .98 acres — 42,821 square feet — of lot area, increase the retail entertainment area by more than 78,000 square feet, add 772 parking spaces, and include a 350-unit residential tower that will be 528 feet tall.
