Florida teaching certificates on rise

    Teaching certificates are increasing in Florida after numbers were down just a few years ago, according to Kathy Hebda, deputy chancellor for educator quality for the Florida Department of Education.
   The state's student population, she said, has also started to increase again, so there is a higher need for teachers to accommodate for that number. Plus, Ms. Hebda said, the economy is getting better, so school districts now have more funds to hire teachers as well.
